Thursday 28th April @ 10am - 12pm Plymouth Lecture Theatre, Free Promoting and facilitating local procurement is key strategic priority of the Chamber. We know that many local large organisations, such as Babcock, local authorities and the NHS are working actively to increase their spend locally. However, a combination of businesses being put off by the procurement process and major procurers being unaware of some of the products and services that local businesses can provide is preventing building resilient local supply chains.Date and Time
10:00 AM - 12:00 PM BST
Location
Portland Square,

Description
This unique event will bring enterprising local businesses together with several major procuring organisations giving businesses a chance to showcase their products and services to these prime procurers. It will open up opportunities to engage directly with them, encourage them into dialogue or advise on how to enter the tendering and procurement process.
The format will be short, sharp and interactive.
A panel of six major procurers will be in the front row of an audience that hears a series of short sharp pitches from several businesses in quick succession, followed by a brief Q&A.
Confirmed for the panel so far are:
Up to 15 pitches will be presented at the event, all a maximum of 3 minutes long.
Following the Q&A the procurers can choose which businesses, if any, they wish to further conversations with. That may be as simple as being sent details of how to register for tender information and enter the procurement process, or an invitation to a further exploratory meeting.
The Chamber will broker these communications and introduce successful pitchers to additional support in preparing their tenders.
If so contact helen.hart@devonchamber.co.uk for an application.
In advance of the event, the local companies pitching on the day will be sent details of the sort of products and services that the large procurers may be interested in buying. However, that should not prevent businesses pitching other ideas that the procurers may not yet know they want or need!
At the conclusion of the presentations there will be the opportunity to continue networking or follow up on conversations with our procurers.
You're welcome to join us even if you're not interested in pitching yourself. The event will offer some excellent networking opportunities and who knows, you may also hear about something that will be of benefit to your own business.
