DESCRIPTION:City Conversations\, our flagship invitation-only event\, provides business leaders with strategic briefings on a wide variety of topics that are of interest to those in senior management roles. The next City Conversations Breakfast Event takes place on Thursday 10th November in Plymouth's Foot Anstey.\n\n \n\nNone of the presentations are sales-based and the event is not suitable for solely business development-focused individuals.\n\n\n\nWe will hear from:\n\n\n\nSarah Newberry\, Fundraising and Corporate Sales Lead\, YMCA \n\nSarah will be talking about the Plymouth Social Isolation Forum\, which is a partnership of community and voluntary sector organisations with social prescribing teams\, wellbeing hubs\, social care roles and much more. \n\n\n\nTogether with Belong in Plymouth\, the forum is staging an exhibition that will showcase the city wide offering helping local people to address the issues of isolation and loneliness in Plymouth. The event is being organised by YMCA Plymouth as part of their ongoing Health and Wellbeing strategy.\n\n \nEmma Hewitt\, Skills Lead at Plymouth City Council\n\nEmma will give an overview of the Plymouth Skills Plan 2021-2026.\n\n \n\nJim McNeill\, Founder of Ice Warrior \n\nJim will talk about his project which\, since 2001\, has trained more than 450 ordinary people from all walks of life to become competent\, safe modern-day explorers\, undertaking seven major\, ground-breaking\, purposeful and worthwhile expeditions that have significantly contributed to our knowledge of the Arctic.\n\n \n\nSean Gibson\, Partnership and Engagement Manager at SMART SKILLS\n\nSean will talk about SMART SKILLS\, the European funded project enabling businesses\, and individuals\, across Devon access to fully funded training. Sean will be providing an insight into the aims of the project\, the progress and impact that the project has had to date and the reasons behind training being essential to staff recruitment and retention as well as business growth and productivity.\n\n \n\nJon Walton\, CEO at Plymouth Waterfront Partnership Business Improvement District\nJon is helping to deliver the 2022-27 Business Improvement District (BID) and involve it in the city's regeneration plans\, including Plymouth City Council's economic plan\, Plymouth's Visitor Plan for 2020-30 and the Plymouth Sound National Marine Park.\n\n\n\nThis event is invitation only so if you feel please email kelly.smith@devonchamber.co.uk if you would like to attend.
