We are delighted to be able to welcome our special guest, Nick Hutton, the Devon based professional sailor who will be joining us live from his training in America to share some of his previous exploits as part of the British Sail GP and Americas Cup teams, and to take a look forward to taking part in next month’s event in Plymouth.
This summer he is joining the Australian team for Sail GP Season 2 as a Grinder and will be giving us an insight into Sail GP coming to Plymouth this summer. Nick enters the team with a wealth of experience on board the high-speed F50 catamaran, having previously sailed as a grinder and wing trimmer in the Great Britain SailGP Team.
Andy Hindley - Andy has sailed around the world as a skipper in The BT Global Challenge, was Race Director for the Volvo Ocean Race and was the COO of Americas Cup Race Management, delivering the World Series event that was held in Plymouth in 2011. He will be talking about his role in the organisation of the city’s hosting of the America’s cup and the similarities between that and the benefits this year’s Sail GP will bring.
Michael Porter, Head of Marketing and Innovation, Sail GP will be talking about the intricacies of the organisation of this year's Sail GP, what makes it different and how businesses can get involved.
Nick Kelly, New Plymouth City Council Leader will be discussing the benefits that the event will bring to Plymouth's economy, business and community. He will also be shedding light on some other exciting plans and projects for the city.
